Silz liegt im Oberinntal zwischen Telfs und Imst. Die Silzer Innau ist ein seit 1997 geschützter 8,4 ha großer Auwald westlich des Ortes, mit einem Betretungsverbot zu gewissen Monaten des Jahres.[1] Silz liegt an der Nordseite der Stubaier Alpen, an den Gemeindegrenzen liegen mit Sulzkogel (3016 m), Hochreichkopf (3010 m) und Acherkogel (3007 m) drei Dreitausender.

Das Gemeindegebiet umfasst folgende zwei Ortschaften (Einwohner Stand 1. Januar 2018):

Die Gemeinde besteht aus der einzigen gleichnamigen Katastralgemeinde Silz."

[EN] "Silz is a municipality with 2560 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2018) in the district of Imst (judicial district of Silz) in the Austrian province of Tyrol and the seat of the district court.

Silz lies in the Upper Inn Valley between Telfs and Imst. The Silzer Innau has been a protected 8.4 ha alluvial forest west of the town since 1997, with a prohibition of entry at certain months of the year.[1] Silz lies on the northern side of the Stubai Alps, on the municipal borders lie three three three thousand metre peaks with Sulzkogel (3016 m), Hochreichkopf (3010 m) and Acherkogel (3007 m).

The municipal area comprises the following two villages (inhabitants as of 1 January 2018):
