Lufkin's downtown now has a piece of Paris! Main Street Lufkin unveiled the 'Locked With Love' tree Wednesday morning. It mimics the love locks on the popular bridge in Paris with an East Texas twist.

Amy Fincher put her engraved love lock on the new tree at the unveiling. That's only one love story behind one lock on Lufkin's new Locked With Love tree.
"On a trip to Paris on vacation, my husband and I saw it. After that, we thought this would be something great for our downtown!" said Barbara Thompson, Main Street Director.
Shortly after, a representation of the Ponts Des Arts bridge and love locks of Paris was unveiled right here in Cotton Square Park.
"I thought it was really neat to use the key and dispose of it, so it cannot be unlocked," Fincher said. "It has my husband's name, my name, and the date we were married."
The river that the key would go in in Paris was the Seine River. There's no river in downtown Lufkin, so that aspect of the display is replaced by a crafty sign.
"You simply put it in our key box to never be seen again," Thompson said.
