This monolith in Jim Thorpe Park honors a valued member of the community. It is located at the south side, just north of the Jim Thorpe marker. On the top left of the front face is a cowboy hat, hanging over the text box.

Dedicated to Harold V. "Tex" Brown. Historian, archeologist, author, crusader, champion of sports, an ardent admirer of the great Jim Thorpe, Yale, Oklahoma, and all its citizens.
Fondly Remembered
He was born in 1920 and died 1986. This historic monolith was dedicated Sept. 11, 1988
