The Canadian Automated Pilot Selection System was developed by Atlantis Aerospace Corporation. Completed in 1985, it was adopted by the RCAF in 1997, replacing the venerable Link Trainer. Unlike its predecessor, it relied on both computer and visual inputs and cues.
It remained in service until 2013 when it was replaced by the Royal Air Force Aircrew Aptitude Test, which better represents the more complex displays of modern aircraft.
The trainer is one of several on display in the museum.
