Die Hotmannspief ist ein Brunnendenkmal in Aachen. Er befindet sich auf einem kleinen Platz an der Ecke Sandkaulstraße / Alexanderstraße.

Seit mindestens 1334 war an diesem historischen Platz ein einfacher Laufbrunnen, gespeist aus den Marktwasserleitungen. Um 1600 wurde ein Brunnenbecken installiert.

Sein heutiges Aussehen erhielt der Hotmannspief Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts: 1825 wurde der Brunnen nach Entwürfen von Adam Franz Friedrich Leydel komplett umgestaltet und erhielt seine Obelisk-Form. 1830 wurden die vier vergoldeten Statuen hinzugefügt. Sie zeigen im Halbrelief vier Frauen, die in ihren Händen je zwei Kannen mit Wasser halten. Das aus den Kannen fließende Wasser fließt durch Rohre im Innern des Obelisken und tritt am Sockel aus vier goldenen Löwenköpfen wieder aus.
The Hotmannspief is a fountain monument in Aachen. It is located on a small plaza on the corner of Sandkaulstraße / Alexanderstraße.

Since at least 1334 there was a simple flowing well at this historic place, fed from the market water pipes. Around 1600, a fountain basin was installed.

The Hotmannspief received its present appearance at the beginning of the 19th century: In 1825 the fountain was completely redesigned to designs by Adam Franz Friedrich Leydel and received its obelisk form. In 1830, the four gilded statues were added. In the half-relief, they show four women holding two mugs with water each in their hands. The water flowing from the mugs flows through pipes inside the obelisk and emerges at the base from four golden lion heads.
