Stillwater, Oklahoma is home to the Oklahoma State University Cowboys (or "Pokes") and the Smokey Pokey is proud to display plenty of OSU imagery. The Poke's mascot, Pistol Pete himself, guards the entry to the best BBQ west of Stillwater. There's home-made sauce on the tables and home-canned pickles on the pickle bar. On my visit I tried the $10 "dirty fries" - french fries with cheese and brisket - and had to restrain myself from licking the platter clean. If you enter the Smokey Pokey hungry, you won't leave that way!
