The Maysville First United Methodist Church is located at 705 N. Mays Street, at the corner of 8th. This is a one-story brick church with the sanctuary on the west side, and the classroom/office/recreational portion to the east.
Two things catch your attention immediately. The sanctuary of the church has a tall, arched roof, pointed at the top. The north wall of the worship center is totally glass. It is divided by wood frames, with geometric glass panels in each segment. Large, sweeping patterns in colored gass swing across the glass wall. The side walls of this portion of the church have tall vertical units with four panes, also segmented with geometric shapes.
The second thing you focus on is the unusual bell tower at the northwest corner of the building. It is constructed of four iron beams, curved at the base forming a teepee shape. A cross is at the top, and a bell hangs where the beams meet. It is all painted white.
The church does not have a website - only a Facebook page which does not give much information on the church, except that they have Sunday school at 10:00am and Worship at 11:00am on Sundays.
