5.1 MI NW FROM GROTON.
SET IN THE TOP OF THE SOUTHEAST END OF THE SOUTHWEST CONCRETE HEADWALL
OF A 5-FOOT DOUBLE DRAIN CULVERT UNDER THE ABANDONED MONTPELIER AND
WELLS RIVER RAILROAD, 24 YARDS SOUTH OF THE SOUTHEAST END OF LAKESIDE
STATION, NOW GONE. IT IS 150 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF THE ROAD TO
THE SOUTH END OF LAKE GROTON, IN GROTON STATE FOREST. REACHED FROM
GROTON BY GOING NORTHWEST ON U.S. HIGHWAY 302 FOR 1.8 MILES TO
GROTON-MARSHFIELD STATE HIGHWAY ON THE RIGHT, TURN RIGHT AND GO 3.3
MILES TO A ROAD ON THE RIGHT, TURN RIGHT AND GO TOWARD LAKE GROTON FOR
0.1 MILE TO THE OLD RAILROAD BED AND THE MARK ON THE RIGHT.
