Fondée le siècle dernier, l'atelier a su s'adapter à l'évolution de la demande, d'abord celui d'un maréchal ferrant, puis atelier de mécanique agricole et de forge, aujourd'hui l'atelier est spécialisé dans le travail de la serrurerie, autrement dit de ferronnerie, et bien entendu le travail à la forge est conservé .
L'atelier forge à Ballan-miré ne semble plus avoir dd'activité.
