The Tonto Basin is a ranching area in central Arizona located between the Tonto Rim forests and the upper Sonoran Desert to the South. Fred B. Worley was born in February, 1922 and served in the army in the invasion of Normandy in WW II. His tombstone is a sheet of rusted steel. The information has been cut through the steel, possibly by a welding torch. It looks like a family member or friend volunteered to do the job, either to save money or in honor of a man who was a good welder. Either way it is a distinctive contribution to the cemetery.
