County of park: Callaway County
Location of park: 2nd St. & Market St. (US bus 54), Fulton

A few of my words. When I first visited and photoed (2008) the park's columns, the ball field was behind the columns...a parking lot...The Liberty Bridge cut through the park and a crude walking trail wandered in and out of the park.

Now (2018) the ball field is moved to the other side, a huge children's playground and water splash pad exist when the ball field use to be...a new big pavilion, a covered bridge across the creek, ... the Liberty Bridge torn down and a traffic circle replaced it...US-54 still splits the park but visitors no longer have to cross it dodging traffic....Check out my photos...2008 & 2018 carefully and notice the differences.

Modern dedication marker text:

Memorial Park
On September 18, 1918, Callaway County Commissioners met with St. Louis Park Development architect Robert C. Duncan to review the Soldiers' Memorial Park proposal. The park was designed as a memorial to Callaway County soldiers from all wars. Shown above in the original plan for the park, which was to include an amphitheater, gazebo and a trail along Stinson Creek.

"Memorial Park is divided by Business 54. The east side of the park, also known as Hockaday Hill or Indian Park, houses one shelter, restrooms and playground equipment, as well as easy access Stinson Creek Trail. The west side of the park is home to Hensley baseball field, the Covered Bridge, the newly renovated Gazebo, Pavilion with concessions and restrooms, & playground. Memorial Park (West) will also house the new Splash Pad attraction in Summer 2014." ~ The City of Fulton
