"Peggy Jean Krieg, 73, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 on the family farm near Moscow Mills, MO surrounded by the caring love of family and friends. She was born on June 22, 1940 to Dennis and Lola Marie (Hopper) Barber in Dell, AR. As a teenager, her family relocated to St. Charles County near Old Monroe, MO where she played women’s high school basketball at Francis Howell High School. She met her husband-to-be Roger Alan Krieg and they were married on October 19, 1957. To this union three daughters and one son were born; Debra, Kathy, Karen and Robbie. Peggy was a tireless homemaker, business owner and volunteer. After lovingly raising her four children, she and her husband Roger began and operated numerous business adventures including Tractor Supply Farm & Home, the Old Co-op Antique Store, the Highway C Plaza and the Dollar Super Store, all in Moscow Mills. Peggy was also a dedicated volunteer of 10+ years at the Terry L. Robertson Center in Troy, a women’s crisis intervention center and she was a faithful member of Highland Prairie Union Church near Ethlyn, MO. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The unbroken smile on her face only magnified the pride, joy and love she held in her heart for her family.

"Peggy is survived by her husband of nearly 56 years, Roger Krieg of Moscow Mills, her son Robb Krieg of Moscow Mills, and her three daughters and their husbands: Debra and Ted Martinek of Troy, Kathy and Keith Hall of Troy, and Karen and John Reese of O’Fallon. "She was preceded in death by her parents.
