The town of Foster is located on Highway 29 about 6 miles west of Elmore City in Garvin County. A post office was first established here on August 12, 1891. This agricultural town once had several churches, general stores and businesses. Today, there are a few homes and a convenience store.

The post office is located at 20188 East CR 1655. It has counter hours Monday-Friday from 7:30 to 11:30am, and on Saturday from 7:30-9:15. The lobby and boxes are available 24/7.

The post office is a one-story concrete block building painted white, with a gable roof. We thought it unique that its identifying name and zip code are painted by hand on the front.
