This beautiful memorial is located in Purdy Cemetery, off Highway 76.

The town of Purdy is a ghost town today, having been legally dissolved in 1989. The Purdy Cemetery contains approximately 683 burials and is located northwest of the town, off Highway 76.

This is a gray granite monument which stands on a rusticated granite base. The top of the pillar is pointed with a large engraving of the American Legion seal. There are the names of 48 veterans shown on the monument.
