Bostalsee a Great recreational reservoir.
In the north of the Saarland lies the large recreation area Bostalsee. This reservoir has an area of 120 hectares. This lake is in summer popular with fans of the famous water sports. Many sailors and windsurfers plan their holiday here because of the many opportunities for relaxation on or in the water.
On hot summer days many people go to the Bostalsee to swim and laze on one of the two large sandy beaches. There are also rowing boats and pedaloes for rent. You can park your car at a number of parking places around the lake. In addition to the many forms of water recreation, anglers are often seen guests along or on the water. The water has a good quality and therefore a generous fish stock. Various species of fish are caught such as; zander, pike, eel, carp, tench, roach, catfish, and perch. Just think about your sports fishing permit. You can buy the fishing license for the Bostalsee from the manager of the lake or at the campsite.
