"FULTON - A Fulton man has been charged in the death of a 27-year-old woman and her unborn child in a fatal car wreck in January. Callaway County prosecutors have charged 26-year-old Charles Ayers with four counts of first-degree involuntary manslaughter and four counts of second-degree assault. They say he can be prosecuted on only two of the manslaughter charges and two of the assault charges. A grand jury indictment alleges that Ayers was under the influence of a controlled substance when he crashed into a car driven by Danielle Murphy on January 29. The crash also killed Murphy's unborn child and injured two passengers, 44-year-old Melody Murphy and 18-year-old Kaitlyn Murphy, all of Fulton. The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Ayers on Monday. He's scheduled to appear in court on November 6." ~ KOMU (channel 8), October 29, 2007
