In Newbury, along High Road, is the Thomas Parker Cemetery, named after the first minister of the First Parish of Newbury.
The cemetery is located on the east side of High Road, adjacent to the Old Burial Ground, and is about 50 ft south of the First Parish of Newbury church. Park in the church parking lot.
The cemetery is a rectangular plot, devoid of trees, and flat and grassy. It is bounded by stone on the street side, and stone and brick on the other sides.
Though it is adjacent to the Old Burial Grounds and both are managed by the First Parish of Newbury, the church considers this a separate cemetery. In this cemetery are graves and memorials for soldiers and first responders.
One web site counted about 60 graves, while findagrave.com for the cemetery said there were over 100.
