Located in the shade of trees in Winter Haven's Central Park is a monument in honor of Nat West. The monument is of a small boy sitting on a pedestal reading a book. The bronze plaque reads as follows:
" Inspired by the example of Nat West a beloved community volunteer, whose actions remind us to do whatever we can, whenever we can, wherever we can."
Ironically this monument encouraging reading is placed in a park near the public library. And within the park is a Book Exchange Box encouraging people to read more. There are other waymarks in the park and surrounding area.
