"Der Christliche Verein Junger Menschen in Wien wurde bereits 1896 gegründet.

In unserem Verein findest du von musikalischen Events über die Jugendgruppe Jungschar! und unseren Seniorentrainings bis hin zu Fußball und Billard alles, wo du die Seele baumeln lassen kannst, in Spaß und Freunde zusammenkommst und dich über alles, was dir am Herzen liegt, mit uns und anderen austauschen kannst. Wir bieten dir Raum für Sport und Spiel, Theater und Tanz, Seminare und Meetings, Gottesdienste und Konzerte,Bandproben, Festlichkeiten sowie Partys.

Unser Haus

Am 11. Mai 1911 erfolgte die Grundsteinlegung. Das geplante fünfstöckige Gebäude war das erste Haus in Wien, das in Stahlbetonbauweise errichtet wurde. In den obersten drei Stockwerken wurde ein Hospiz untergebracht, das zunächst als Jungmänner-Wohnheim geführt wurde. Daneben sah der Plan einen Restaurant-Betrieb mit Küche und Speisesaal, eine große Empfangshalle, einen Turnsaal, einen Festsaal mit 200 Plätzen, sowie eine Reihe von Gruppenzimmern vor.

Bereits am 31. Oktober 1912 erfolgte die Einweihung des Hauses. So manches geschah im Laufe dieser Zeit: Erster Weltkrieg als Soldatenheim An den Wochenenden sammelten sich viele Jugendliche aus den Zweiggruppen im CVJM-Haus zu einem bunten Leben und Treiben. Es waren mehr als 1000 Mitglieder. Als dann 1938 der CVJM verboten wurde und 1948 der neugegründete CVJM sein Haus wieder bekam, hat man zur Finanzierung der CVJM-Arbeit die oberen Stockwerke adaptiert und ein christliches Hospiz-Hotel gemacht, so wie viele CVJM-Häuser in der Welt. Später musste das Hotel, geschlossen werden.

2000 erfolgte die Umstrukturierung des Hauses. Es entstanden Gruppen wie: Joy, Teestube, Jugendcafe, Seniorennachmittag, Turnen, Faustball und die geistliche Arbeit in der Form der Bibelstunde waren der Grundstock der Arbeit im CVJM-Haus."

Our house

In the top three floors a hospice was housed, which was initially run as Jungmänner (young men) dormitory. In addition, the plan provided for a restaurant operation with kitchen and dining room, a large lobby, a gymnasium, a ballroom with 200 seats, and a number of group rooms.

Already on 31 October 1912 the inauguration of the house took place. Many things happened during this time: First World War as a military shelter. On the weekends, many young people from the branch groups gathered in the YMCA House to a colorful life and bustle. There were more than 1000 members.
