Shellharbour is a major city & is undergoing a rapid increase in population. The Shellharbour Junction railway station opened in November 2014 & replaced the older Dunmore Railway station which was just to the south.
Shellharbour Junction recorded 10,616 passenger journeys in the first three months of 2015, almost as many as the number of journeys recorded by Dunmore Station in its last full year of operation. There is ample parking & lifts on both platforms.
