In earlier times the cemetery of the city of Vannes was at the foot of the cathedral, of that time there remains only this cross banner of the 15th century
"There is an altar in front of a pedestal Quadrangular base on which are carved: the descent of the cross, Jesus at the tomb, the resurrection, the descent into hell.
The barrel is an octagonal monolith decorated with garlands and curled leaves. At the base of the barrel, under pediments, are represented: St. Catherine of Alexandria with the wheel, St. Paterne and two other saints.
There are fiery hearts represented at the base of the tent. In the fourfold terminal Christ on the cross between St. John and the Virgin on one side; a Pietà with two prayers on the other. "

Dans des temps plus ancien le cimetière de la ville de Vannes se trouvait au pied de la cathédrale, de cette époque il ne reste plus que cette croix bannière du 15 ème siècle.
"Il y a un autel devant un piédestal. Base quadrangulaire sur laquelle sont sculptés : la descente de croix ; Jésus au tombeau ; la résurrection ; la descente aux enfers.
Le fût est un monolithe octogonal décoré de guirlandes et feuilles recourbées. A la base du fût, sous des frontons, sont représentés : Sainte-Catherine d'Alexandrie avec la roue, Saint-Paterne et deux autres saints.
Il y a des coeurs enflammés représentés à la base du chapiteau. Dans le quatrefeuille terminal, le Christ en croix entre Saint-Jean et la Vierge d'un côté ; une Pietà avec deux orants de l'autre."
