In Newbury, along High Street, is the Coffin House, listed in the American Guide Series for Massachusetts.

The entry in the guide is a follows:

TheCoffin House (open June-Oct., 2-5; adm. 25c), north of the Center, was built about 1653 and later enlarged. It is a well-preserved example of 17th-century architecture. The part played by the Coffins in the town's development has been traced by Joshua Coffin in his 'History of Newbury, Newburyport, and West Newbury from 1635 to 1845.'

- American Guide Series: Massachusetts-Aguide to its People and Places, p. 415.

The house still stands and is open for tours, which are on the first and third Saturdays of the month. The web site has a description. It was built (according to the site) in 1678 by the Coffins. In 1712, the house was doubled in size to accommodate a son and his family. In 1758, the house was made into two separate living units.
