Op 5 september 1944 wordt Jean Lox door middel van een valscherm achter de vijandelijke linies gedropt. Hij gedraagt zich schitterend en toont een voorbeeldige moed bij al de overvallen waaraan hij deelneemt. Op 10 september wordt zijn squad, door een zeer talrijke vijand die gesteund wordt door pantserwagens, aangevallen. Tijdens dit gevecht krijgt de squad van Lox de opdracht een wankelend peloton van het 'geheime leger', dat door de vijand aangevallen werd, te versterken. Lox was voor deze onderduikers, tijdens een stoutmoedige flankbeweging, een bezieling en een voorbeeld. Terwijl hij door zijn strijdlustigheid, zijn makkers ten aanval voert, stuit hij op een vijandelijke mitrailleusepost, hij wordt dodelijk gekwest. 1e Sdt Lox weigert zich te laten evacueeren en blijft voort vuren totdat een vuurvlaag uit de vijandelijke machinegeweren hem de genadeslag gaf.

On 5 September 1944 Jean Lox is dropped by a parachute behind the enemy lines. He behaves brilliantly and shows an exemplary courage in all the robberies in which he participates. On September 10, his squad, by a very numerous enemy supported by armored cars, is attacked. During this battle the squad of Lox gets the assignment to strengthen a staggering platoon of the 'secret army', which was attacked by the enemy. For these people in hiding, Lox was an inspiration and an example during a bold flanking movement. While he is attacking his companions, he encounters an enemy machine-gun post, killing lethally. 1st Sdt Lox refuses to evacuate and continues firing until a fire from the enemy machine guns gave him the final blow.
