Valley of the Rogue State Park is about 6 miles from Gold Hill, Oregon along a bend on the Rogue River. The campground is also a great place to stay while taking in the local culture, history, and recreation opportunities in the area.

The park features:

  • 95 full-hookup sites (23 pull-through)
  • 55 electrical sites with water
  • 14 tent sites with water nearby
  • Eight yurts (four pet-friendly)
  • Three group tent camping areas
  • Meeting hall
  • Flush toilets and hot showers
  • Laundry facilities
  • Firewood for sale ($5/bundle)
  • RV dump station (donation based)
  • Two campsites are accessible to campers with disabilities

Background:
The hills and streams surrounding the Rogue River Valley were once a rich gold mining region. The state park lies along the Applegate Trail and the 1857 Oregon gold rush. An interpretive kiosk with information on this time period is located in the rest area near the river.
