The first internment within this cemetery appears to have been that of Kathleen Deese 1917-1918.

The one acre Muse Cemetery located at the intersection of Oak Avenue and Old Muse Road was started by a woman named Martha Altman as a private cemetery. At that time it was called the Altman Cemetery. Her son Hoyt Altman later donated the cemetery to Glades County sometime in the 1980's. Martha died in 1937 and her son Hoyt died 50 years later in 1987. Both are buried in the cemetery. It is the smallest of Glades County's cemeteries.
