Cross covered with roof, recently build. Probably between 1990-1997.

De nabijheid van Tongeren leidde ertoe dat Othée al in een vroeg stadium gekerstend werd. Zowel de keuze van de patroonheiligen als het feit dat het een moederparochie betrof die over veel bezittingen beschikte wijst op een hoge ouderdom.
Oorspronkelijk was de kerk opgetrokken in silex, terwijl de zijbeuken in kalksteen werden uitgevoerd. Nadat Othée (ten gevolge van de Slag bij Othée) in 1408 werd verwoest, werden de zijbeuken gerestaureerd op initiatief van de Abdij van Herkenrode. In 1827 werden de zijbeuken vergroot en uitgevoerd in baksteen. In 1865 werd de oude toren afgebroken en vervangen door een toren in neogotische stijl. De eigenlijke kerk werd in 1911 nieuw opgetrokken in baksteen en eveneens in neogotische stijl.

Après qu'Othée (à la suite de la bataille d'Othée) fut détruite en 1408, les bas-côtés furent restaurés à l'initiative de l'abbaye d'Herkenrode. En 1827, les bas-côtés sont agrandis et exécutés en briques. En 1865, l'ancienne tour fut démolie et remplacée par une tour de style néo-gothique. L'église actuelle a été construite en 1911 en briques et également en style néo-gothique.

The proximity of Tongeren led to Othée becoming Christianized at an early stage. Both the choice of the patron saints and the fact that it was a mother parish who possessed many possessions indicates a high age.
Originally, the church was erected in flint while the aisles were executed in limestone. After Othée (as a result of the Battle of Othée) was destroyed in 1408, the aisles were restored on the initiative of the Abbey of Herkenrode. In 1827, the aisles were enlarged and executed in brick.
