Evergreen Cemetery is one of three cemeteries located on North Nain Streeet in Jasper; City Cemetery, Memorial Park, and Evergreen. All three of are owned by Stringer & Griffin Funeral Homes. Although he never served in the Armed Forces, my maternal grandfather is buried somewhere in Evergreen Cemetery.

Description of Memorial:

The Evergreen Veterans Memorial is made up of five granite blocks. The two right and two left parts are sloped. Each one has the name of a different war: Korea, World War I, World War II, and Vietnam.

The center stone is smaller and has the emblems of the six branches of the Armed Forces. U.S.A.F, U.S. ARMY, U.S.M.C., U.S.C.G., U.S. NAVY, and U.S.M.M. In bold are the words: In Memory of All Veterans.

Behind the center stone is a flagpole which flies the American Flag.
