Long Description:
As part of the Points of Inspiration project a visit will yield you will be treated not only to the shops and restaurants but a downtown architecture constructed between 1862 and 1882, these Romanesque Revival style buildings were constructed after a fire levels the downtown in 1862.

Points of Inspiration is an initiative to provide experiences and activities designed to introduce the Southern Finger Lakes region to visitors as well as to educate its local residents about all the area has to offer.

Horseheads was a point where during the wilderness wars of the American Revolution a significant number of the pack horses were culled from the advancing army do to sickness and injury. It's said that returning settlers found the sun bleached skulls of the horses and the name Valley of the Horse Heads was born, a name that survives to this day!
