This is a two-story red brick building constructed in 1914. The building is 32 feet wide, with the ground floor being 88 feet deep, and the second level being 100 feet deep. At the back of the ground floor, there is a 10 foot long passage with a loft overhead. The building was built to house a grocery store which operated at this located for thirty years. The second level held living quarters. There is a small basement at the rear which once operated as the "Slipper Store".
The facade is plain with limestone sills and lintels on the four 1/1 second floor windows. The storefront has two occupancies which are mirror image. The recessed entrances are at the center, flanked by narrow one-over-one display windows. The clerestory also have one-over-one panes. A wood support column is located at the center of the storefronts. Though listed as 117 W. 7th, the entrances display the addresses 117 and 119.
