Wall section A is part of the medieval wall of Tongeren and consists of a piece of city wall of about 300 meters in length containing two city towers, the Schaetzentower and the Poeiertower.

Muurstuk A omvat de resten van de stadsomwalling in het noorden van de stad, langsheen de Elfde-Novemberwal. De stadsmuur is hier op sommige plaatsen tot circa 3 meter hoogte bewaard en opgebouwd uit een parement van silexblokken in regelmatig verband, afgewisseld met mergelsteen voor banden en afwerking van onder meer omlijstingen aangebracht omheen het kernmetselwerk dat veel Romeins bouwmateriaal bevat.
Twee torens, de Schaetentoren in het oosten en de Poeiertoren in het westen, bleven ook gedeeltelijk bewaard. Vlak tegen de Poeiertoren treft men metselwerk in mergelblokken aan dat bovenop later baksteenmetselwerk werd opgetrokken.
Aan het meest westelijke uiteinde van het muurstuk A bevinden zich aan de voorzijde van de muur zeven steunberen en aan de achterzijde vijf in mergel opgetrokken arcades. Sporen van vroeger aanwezige bogen zijn verder nog aanwezig.

La section du mur A comprend les vestiges des remparts au nord de la ville, le long du chemin Elfde-Novemberwal. À certains endroits, le mur de la ville a été conservé jusqu’à une hauteur d’environ 3 mètres.
Deux tours, le Schaetentoren à l'est et le Poeiertoren à l'ouest, ont également été partiellement préservées. Juste en face de la tour 'Poeier', on trouve de la maçonnerie dans des blocs de marnes qui ont été construits sur des maçonneries de briques plus tardives.
À l'extrémité ouest du mur A, il y a sept contreforts à l'avant du mur et cinq arcades à marne à l'arrière. Des traces d'arches antérieures sont toujours présentes.

Wall section A comprises the remains of the city wall in the north of the city, along the Elfde-Novemberwal. In some places the city wall has been preserved up to a height of around 3 meters and is composed of a parement of flint blocks in regular context, alternated with marlstone for tires and finishing of, among other things, framing around the core masonry that contains a lot of Roman building material.
Two towers, the Schaetentoren in the east and the Poeiertoren in the west, were also partially preserved. Just in front of the Poeier Tower one finds masonry in marl blocks that was built on top of later brick masonry.
At the westernmost end of the wall piece A there are seven buttresses at the front of the wall and five arcades in marl on the back. Traces of earlier arches are still present.
