Klamath Community College accredited - News Article Locations on Waymarking.com

" Klamath Community College announced Tuesday it has gained accreditation for offering two-year associate degrees.

Pete Nevin, chairman of the college's board of education, said the accreditation was approved earlier this month by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, and is retroactive to the beginning of the current school year.

Until now, the college established in 1996 has been accredited through an agreement with Portland Community College. That agreement is no longer necessary.

"This is a big deal," said KCC President Fred Smith. "It's been a long haul, but now the door is open we're going to run through it. We can now go ahead with our efforts to build a legitimate community college." " (visit link)
