The memorial consists of a square sub-plinth with a two-stepped square base, and surmounted by a tall square sectioned parallel-sided pillar with a moulded-overhang capital and a square sectioned capstone. The top faces of the lower step are sloped outwards whilst the top faces of the upper step are moulded. The inscriptions on the front and rear faces of pillar are in blackened lead.
