Kenilworth Guest House was built in 1896 from traditional Lakeland slate, and has retained many original Victorian features. It has six guest bedrooms. Four are on the first floor and two are on the second floor, with a ground floor dining room.

All bedrooms are fully double-glazed and centrally-heated, with thermostatic (controllable) radiators, with and en-suite shower.

All bedrooms now benefit from Egyptian cotton bedding, all towels are of Egyptian cotton from the Christy range and all bathrooms benefit from an exclusive range of toiletries.

I stayed in – Bedroom 4 which is a spacious single room, and has been very recently completely refurbished, with a newly created en-suite shower room. It overlooks the front garden.

Breakfasts are served in the ground floor dining room. Full English breakfast is included, although a lighter version or vegetarian alternative is also available. A full vegetarian and gluten free menu is also available upon request. They serve local produce (the sausage is made by the local butcher) and the free-range eggs are delivered from the local farm.

Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises, including the garden.

There is wifi throughout the guest house for the use of guests at no additional charge.

Check in time between 4pm and 8pm please, except by prior arrangement. However guest are welcome to drop off their bags between 9.30am and 12.00pm. We would ask that guests provide us with an estimated time of arrival if at all possible at their earliest convenience and in any event no later than 24 hours prior to their arrival.
