This bench is located near the entrance to The Parish Church of St Andrew on the B5285 in Coniston.

The brown wooden bench has a slatted back and seat with arm rests. The silver plaque on the back of the bench (which was quite faded) is inscribed as follows:-

'P.C. Jim Leake & Evelyn

Happy Memories of
Living In Coniston'

The bench faces the gate of the church and the war memorial.

"St Andrew’s Church was built in 1819, designed by J.Matson. It replaced an earlier church of 1586 built by William Le Fleming. The chancel and the low bays were added in 1891. The Baptistry West window of St Andrew has stained glass by Charles Kempe." Source: (visit link)
