The last Little Free Library I found in Galveston was actually two boxes (
visit link) unfortunately there was only one book. It is located on the Seawall, and it was Spring Break, so that might be where all the books went.
The San Jacinto Community Garden Library is packed full.
Two of the books immediately made me smile:
How To Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie - Years ago, I was assigned chapters to read by my boss and had to give an oral book report as part of my evaluation.
The Hardy Boys: Secret of the Old Mill - This is obviously an early print of this book. I should have looked at the print date.
There is a full range of books here. Kids books like Hop On Pop by Dr. Seuss, Little Critters, Frog on a Log, and How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night.
For the adults there are several books by OG Mandino, from what I can tell are motivational or self help, "The Bridges of Madison County", "As Texas Goes..." - the description of this says that this is the "Model for the Tea Party".
The garden is only open one Saturday a month according to the sign on the fence, but the books are accessable 24/7.
About the garden: (

The San Jacinto Community Garden was established in 1999 at 2005 Avenue N 1/2 in the San Jacinto Neighborhood of Galveston. The original mission statement of the garden was developed by several of the original gardeners, Maggie Booth, Kathryn Dawson and Kay Sandor. It defined community gardening and included a statement about the importance of educating children about gardening. It took a few years to reach this goal, but we are pleased to announce a new initiative of educating Junior Master Gardeners at the garden. The classes are led by local Master Gardener Dana Crawford. Crawford is also the one behind the creation of San Jacinto Community Garden’s Monarch Waystation in the front of the garden.
