Pomník Josefa Jungmanna v Olovnici je zvláštní svou neobvyklou koncepcí. Na mohutném pískovcovém postavci je umístena jen malá pískovcová socha Josefa Jungmana, která nedosahuje bežné životní velikosti. Toto dílo zhotovil na vlastní náklady roku 1874 kamenický mistr František Kdýr z Olovnice. V roce 1993 sochu restauroval akademický sochar Petr Vána.
Josef Jungmann (1773 - 1847) byl ceský filolog, lexikograf, spisovatel a prekladatel. Byl jedním z hlavních predstavitelu ceského národního obrození. V nemeckojazycném prostredí habsburské monarchie napsal své životní dílo: petidílný Slovník cesko-nemecký (120 000 hesel), kterým významne prispel k vytvorení základních norem spisovného ceského jazyka.

The memorial of Josef Jungmann in the village of Olovnice is strange to its unusual concept. At the massive sandstone pedestal is placed only a small sandstone statue of Josef Jungmann, which does not reach normal life size. This work was made at his own expense in 1874 by the stone master František Kdýr of Olovnice. The sculpture was restored in 1993 by the sculptor Petr Vána.
Josef Jungmann (1773 - 1847) was a Czech philologist, lexicographer, writer and translator. He was one of the main representatives of the Czech national revival. In the German-speaking environment of the Habsburg monarchy he wrote his life work: five-part Czech-German Dictionary (120,000 words), which contributed significantly to the creation of standard Czech literary language.
