At Shelly Beach, on the southern side of Port Macquarie, just down from Sea Acres, are several aluminium slat benches. While the extruded tubular aluminium slats are curved, with small grooves on the anterior surface, they are only semi-comfortable to sit on for a long time, and if wet will draw a lot of heat out of you, or, on a hot summer's day, scald your skin.
The plaque appears to be bronze-coloured, anodised aluminium, held by four pop rivets, and engraved with the following inscription:
"NEIL AND LAUREL FERGUSON
NEVER HAPPIER THAN IN PORT"
There are great views, whether out to sea, to north, or to the south.
