At the northern end of the picnicking end of Shelly Beach is an aluminium bench, with a brushed stainless steel plaque, which is attached with now rusty pop rivets to one of the slats of the back rest. The etched inscription reads:

Loved You Yesterday, Love You Still,
Always Have, Always Will,
RONALD JOHN FITZSIMMONS

There are great views, including out to sea, the nearby Boat Ramp, and to the north the Totem Pole for Harry, the 'Mayor of Shelly Beach', and to the south, where there are walks along the coastline.
