Autorem pomníku, vcetne reliéfu hlavy a podpisu, je akademický sochar Antonín Lhoták (1897-1975). Buližníkové balvany, z kterých je pametní kamenná mohyla navršena, byly dovezeny z nedalekých Kozích hrbetu. První odhalení pomníku probehlo 5. ríjna 1952.
Pri príležitosti 60. výrocí úmrtí Mikoláše Alše, došlo v roce 1973 k prestavbe pomníku. Byla zvýšena jeho strední cást a rozšíren základ. Kameny byly opet privezeny z Kozích hrbetu. Dne 6. ríjna 1973 byl pomník znovu slavnostne predán verejnosti.

Mikoláš Aleš (18. listopadu 1852 - 10. cervence 1913) byl slavný ceský malír, kreslír a ilustrátor. V Suchdole u Prahy pobýval na místním velkostatku od listopadu 1877 do dubna 1879. Díky podpore mecenáše ceských umelcu Alexandra Brandejse, práve zde Mikoláš Aleš vytvoril svá nejkrásnejší díla.

The author of the monument, including the relief of the head and the signature, is the academic sculptor Antonín Lhoták (1897-1975). The boulders from which the memorial stone cairn is laid have been imported from the nearby Goat's Backs Hills. The monument was unveiled on October 5, 1952.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the death of Mikoláš Aleš, in 1973, the monument was rebuilt. Its central part has been increased and the base has been expanded. Stones were also imported from the Goat's Backs Hills. On October 6, 1973, the monument was officially handed over to the public.

Mikoláš Aleš (November 18, 1852 - July 10, 1913) was a famous czech painter, cartoonist and illustrator. In Suchdol near Prague, he stayed at the local manor house from November 1877 until April 1879. Thanks to the support of czech artists patron Mr. Alexander Brandejs, Mikoláš Aleš created here his most beautiful works.
