From it's website:-
The war memorial in the ancient market town of Oundle in Northamptonshire, on the River Nene, is a small bronze cross on a bronze orb on a pillar. The pillar stands on a plinth which itself stands on an octagonal four-stepped base on a raised paved area. At the junction of the pillar and the plinth is a moulded course with stone spheres at each corner. There is an inscription at the bottom of the plinth, and the names of the fallen of World War II are listed on the top step, again with their rank and branch of the services.
