For a thousand years the Pima indians of the Gila River community relied on the Gila River as a source of water for their settlements and their crops. When the Gila was damned to provide water for Anglo settlements the Pima had to rely on wells as a source of potable water. This tower in the census designated place of Casa Blanca provides pressurized water to the town and the nearby community of Bapchule. It is located on the grounds of the elementary school and government services compound.
