I had previously been to this location finding a geocache, so while in the area I came back in daylight to get some photos of the Turn-Table. Like most, it is a single line table. It is in the rural community of Rankins Springs which was a big wheat growing area - before droughts affected the farmers. Most of the grain was carriaged out by the train line, and this turn-table would have allowed the steam locos to turn around.
Unfortunately it looks like there has been some flooding damage to the raised rail line on the eastern approach, with a wash-away leaving the rails suspended. Also to the east is a large rectangular Water Tower used by the steam engine locomotives of a previous generation.
Access: park by the newer Rankins Springs Rural Fire Brigade.
