Sirény v Ceské republice mužete slyšet každou první stredu v mesíci ve 12.00 hodin. Jejich spuštením se overuje funkcnost systému okamžitého varování obyvatelstva a také slyšitelnost sirén. Signál „Zkouška sirén" je neprerušovaný stabilní tón sirény po dobu 140 sekund. U elektronických „mluvících" sirén a v nekterých obecních rozhlasech muže testu predcházet a po jeho ukoncení následovat mluvená informace „Zkouška sirén".
Siréna na streše budovy ZŠ Chvateruby je moderní elektronický typ, který umožnuje (po odvysílání vlastního varovného signálu) specifikovat druh hrozícího nebezpecí a zpusob ochrany, tedy muže poskytnout tzv. tísnovou informaci. Je dálkove ovládána rádiovým systémem.

You can hear sirens in the Czech Republic every first Wednesday of the month at 12.00. The functionality of the immediate warning system and the audibility of sirens on that day are verified. The "Siren test" signal is an uninterrupted stable tone for 140 seconds. Smart "talking" sirens announce the start of the test and the spoken information follows when the sound goes away.
The siren on the roof of the Chvateruby Primary School is a modern electronic type that allows (after broadcasting of its own warning signal) to specify the type of threatening danger and the way of protection, so it can provide so-called emergency information. It is remotely controlled by the radio system.
