On a forest path between Mayschoß and Dernau there is a memorial for those killed and missing during the First World War.
A basalt memorial stone bears the Iron Cross and the inscription
"Memorial to the Fallen and Missing
1914-18
Renewed 1992"
Next to the memorial stone stands a shrine from 1959 and two wedge-shaped stone blocks with the names of the war victims.
The memorial was erected by the people of Mayschoß.
