West of Dernau there is a wayside shrine for St. Joseph at a crossroads.
The building is designed like a small chapel. It is located on the route of the "Red Wine Trail". Some benches are ready for a rest.
The Wayside Shrine is dedicated to Joseph of Nazareth. Especially in Catholic literature Joseph is often referred to as Jesus' foster father.

The shrine is protected by a forged grid with a cross in the middle.

Inside the wayside shrine is a sandstone relief depicting Joseph as the protector of the childlike Jesus standing in front of him.
