"Proctor's Theatre is one of Upstate's greatest live entertainment venues. Located in the very heart of downtown Schenectady, Proctors is 1926 vaudeville show palace that has recently undergone a total renovation. The result is jaw-dropping. Expanded greatly over the years, Proctor's is now one of the largest theaters in Upstate (3,500 capacity) and one of the few that can handle the largest touring Broadway acts (Book of Mormon, Wicked, Lion King, Jersey Boys, etc.). George Burns and Gracie Allen were among the earliest vaudeville acts to play here. Note the extravagant chandelier over the main floor -- it has nearly 200 individual lamps in it."
