As is typical in the Australian volunteer Fire Brigades, the vehicles have no need to be registered, just checked for road-worthiness. This is a tray-backed Toyota Land Cruiser (4wd of course), with a bonnet mounted snorkel.
In my short run around part of the district I didn't notice any places where the stream-fording capacity of the Land Cruiser would be tested. It does have a fair spread of gear on the back to make it useful as a 'Rapid Response' and fire-spotting vehicle. While it doesn't have a water tank, it does carry a 'stand-pipe', with a pump on board, and 30 mm hose on a reel for moderate length fire suppression.
