In the Adam and Eve garden, a part of the Hamburg city park, designed according to strictly geometrical layouts, this marble sculpture with the title "Adam" is located. Adam is part of the two-part sculptural group Adam + Eve and was created in 1921 by the Hamburg sculptor Oskar E. Ulmer.

- After school studies at the School of Applied Arts in Hamburg - Altona
- Further study of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich Sculpture with Adolf von Hildebrandt
- commissioned work by the Hamburg architect Fritz Schumacher on the embellishment of facades in the Hanseatic city
- 1913 probably one of his first mother-child sculptures is located in Hamburg at a former government building
- c. 1918 Production of the bust of Johann Wilhelm Cordes for its monument on the Ohlsdorf cemetery
- After 1918 member of the Artists Council for Public Art in Hamburg
- Mother-child sculptures, often in erotic, half-naked poses, become the big topic of Oskar Ulmer
- 1920s Oskar Ulmer opens a stonemason's shop for tombs and also trains stonemasons
- Member of the Hamburger Künstlerverein and the Hamburger Sezession
