About Mig-15
The MiG-15 was one of the first successful jet fighters to incorporate swept wings to achieve high transonic speeds. In combat over Korea, it outclassed straight-winged jet day fighters which were largely relegated to ground attack roles, and was quickly countered by the similar American swept-wing North American F-86 Sabre. The MiG-15 is often mentioned, along with the F-86 Sabre, as the best fighter aircraft of the Korean War, and among the best fighter aircraft of all time.

When refined into the more advanced MiG-17, the basic design would again surprise the West when it proved effective against supersonic fighters such as the F-105 Thunderchief and McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II in the Vietnam War of the 1960s.

The MiG-15 is believed to have been one of the most widely produced jet aircraft ever made; in excess of 12,000 were manufactured. Licensed foreign production may have raised the production total to over 18,000.

Dvojice letcu ve složení vedoucí - npor. Jirí Bužek, por. Ladislav Klimek jako císlo 2, odstartovala v 10:01 hodin s úkolem provést pruzkum pohybu neprátelských vojsk na silnicích, cestách a železnicích v prostoru Ždáru nad Sázavou a fotografování starého a nového nádraží tamtéž.
Oba MiGy-15 nastoupaly do 500-metrové výšky a zamírily do výchozího bodu, který se pro tento let nacházel nad obcí Golcuv Jeníkov. Odtud pokracovaly ve výšce 300 m nad terénem nad kontrolní bod Chotebor. Zde musely oba letouny zacít stoupat, nebot úkol mel být proveden z výšky 1400 m. Pocasí bylo pomerne dobré, dohlednost kolem 25 km, mraky nad cílem, pokrývající práve ve výšce 1400 m približne 3/8 oblohy, však primely vedoucího dvojice v poslední fázi letu o 200 m výšku snížit. Porucík Klimek, mladý pilot, jeden z tech, kterí k pluku nastoupili v lednu 1957, držel se presne pokynu a následoval npor. Bužka v narízeném rozestupu 100 - 150 metru. Všechny úkony behem letu provádel správne a predepsaným zpusobem. Presto však po splnení úkolu a obratu na zpátecní kurs velitel své císlo po své levé ruce nenašel.
