The victims died from a Fu-Go balloon bomb by the Japanese during WWII. A group of Sunday school student were picnicking when they were killed. Three of the dead are buried at Linkville Pioneer Cemetery in Klamath Falls -- the inscription on the headstone says "All killed by enemy balloon bomb.
